 Market continues its down move, getting pretty ugly looking out there. Still nothing that clean for me, only 6 on the watchlist.

I read a Dr Steenbarger post yesterday about market conditions and being a 1 trick pony. 

If you trade a style that fits your personality, youll be a one trick pony. 

It was a good post that hit me pretty good and got me thinking. Another one, in stable market conditions, we work to refine our game. In changing market conditions, we find new games to play.

I am a breakout trader. I like it it fits my personality and the things that make sense to me in the markets.

This market we have been in, is not a breakout market. And clearly it show sin my performance. 

There isnt anything wrong necessarily with my process. It worked fantastic in December/ January. Because we were in a breakout market, and names were constantly breaking out. I do not need to abandon this process and way of trading.

However

I do have to make changes in what I am trading. 

It is not a breakout market no matter how bad I want to take breakouts. I have got to stop the bleeding.

Its not a problem that im looking for breakout trades still on a daily basis, it is a problem though, that I and ONLY looking at taking breakout trades. They dont work, I keep expecting them to, my expectations keep failing. 

It all comes down to respecting the market, and trading what the market is giving. 

Ive got to find other ways to get involved that can still be profitable for me. Otherwise, what am I doing. Other than forcing my own wants needs and desires on the market. 

Since I like breakouts, I know I also like failed breakouts. There are trades the opposite direction if it fails. Thats one. 

Another is mean reverting, simply buying TLs with intention itll reverse.

No reason to do anymore than those 2 new ones for now. Im still not able to be 100% focused on trading yet. Dealing with landscaping and waiting on people at the moment. I will go and look at charts and backtest this. See what I can do. 

OTRK

on watch from yesterday, hit alert today, super slow. No reason to day trade. Good vol on HOD break, trying to get in. 

Market turned up well, OTRK fell off but back at BO level again. Will add one more on new hod. 

Never did, dumped. Another no pullback til LOD at 20min to close. Stuck will ride to 0 it looks like. Fine.

11/30 DRC

 Last day of the month. Not much trading exactly to talk about. Big issue last week was speed. I was slow in almost all cases. Trying not to look too much into it. Took a few weeks off, its expected to take a bit to get back into the swing of things. Risk was main focus as a goal going forward. Correct size, consistent risk throughout every trade and setup for consistent results. That I did good with. Main things to focus on 1. Following entry criteria, making sure I trade what I am supposed to 2. Using correct size to reflect risk already determined by setup 3. Must be faster with ^^^ 4. Cut losses fast on adds. In and out, dont wait. 5. Follow management rules, up 1R/2R etc. 6. Take profits in 3rds.  7. Enter trade with small size if it is leaving without me. Big adds come in only if core is at price and action I want to see.  Market looks hot. Nothing but breakouts around. Gapping down a little, recovering already though into the open.
